Colorado law expanding protections for illegal immigrants faces scrutiny after terror attack

Recent legislative actions in Colorado have come under intense scrutiny in the wake of a suspected terror attack by an Egyptian national in Boulder.

 

Colorado Democratic Governor Jared Polis signed a bill into law last month significantly expanding protections for illegal immigrants residing in the state. The legislation, which passed along party lines, removed requirements for illegal immigrants to sign affidavits when applying for in-state tuition, drivers licenses, or state identification cards.
