FBI Director Kash Patel announced the relocation of 1,500 agents from Washington, DC, to various cities across the United States in order to boost the agency’s effectiveness and rebuild public trust that has eroded in recent years.
Patel highlighted how the concentration of one-third of the FBI workforce in the nation’s capital has over time contributed to operational inefficiencies. Agents will be distributed to areas experiencing higher crime rates, addressing urgent law enforcement needs nationwide.
