Trump administration officials appear poised to withdraw funds from California’s infamous high-speed rail project, which once vowed to connect major cities in the state but has instead been marked by runaway budgets and rampant delays.

 

Federal Railroad Administration Acting Administrator Drew Feeley wrote a letter last week to the California High-Speed Rail Authority noting that the organization has “conned the taxpayer” and offered “no viable plan” to deliver even a portion of the railway on time.
